online safety and underage users

Category: SpaceHey

intro ive had a couple of discussions on here regarding modern online safety and i want to organise my thoughts into something more concise. i feel like this is a topic that cannot be talked about enough, and it has never been more relevant with the state of post-covid online activity.  reliance on online activities to get social fixes was increasing steadily pre-2020, but during covid this level ... » Continue Reading

Category: Dreams and the Supernatural

the kenshi experience™

Category: Games

imagine skyrim but even less linear with the difficulty of a souls game. kenshi is weird as fuck, and its taken me 10 hours to get to a point where i don't die in about 3 seconds. currently playing as a robot who was an ex-warrior or something, but i got kicked out of my hometown because i kept stealing random CPUs and pawning them to fund my gambling addiction. then, i made a friend with another ... » Continue Reading

i dont really get DNI lists

Category: Blogging

unless its something super specific it's kind of laughable. for example, "DNI if racist/sexist/homophobic!!" i dont think anybody who actually is any of those things thinks they are, and even if they knew, why would they even bother listening to the DNI list in the first place? if they dont respect other people's rights as an individual why would they respect a list telling them not to interact?? ... » Continue Reading

interesting article i read regarding digital freedom

Category: Religion and Philosophy

this was an article written in the "digital liberty" section of philosophy now by nevin chellappah who discusses how the definition and use of free speech has differed greatly since its conception.  he compares this change to the static works of john mill. the article shows how social media contradicts mill's definition of free speech in 3 seperate areas. my personal favorite of which was how ther... » Continue Reading

ps3 being ahead of its time, part 2

Category: Web, HTML, Tech

up next i'll be talking about the exotic ram system the ps3 uses. the xbox 360 used 512mb of gddr3 memory whilst the ps3 only used 256. why? and how did it still have such good performance? essentially, the ps3 split its ram into 2 sections: gddr3 ram and an experimental xdr ram. it also took advantage of the spu's (see previous blog entry for an explanation on those) to distribute information in ... » Continue Reading

misconceptions with ds/dsi/3ds homebrew

Category: Games

i've seen loads of times people complain in forums about the "dangers" of homebrew on ds systems, and i wanted to make a test blog post (half to see what a spacehey blog looks like, half to clear up some misconceptions with DS handhelds lol) as DS/DSi/3DS systems are discontinued and as are their online services for the most part, homebrew, romhacking, or whatever else you do on your system will n... » Continue Reading
