Perhaps to a lesser extent but I still find myself awaiting responses and recognition from friends on here regarding my posts. Then when I get a response I get a superficial boost. It's more actual conversation based rather than touch and go likes but still. If I don't get a response I tend to wonder why am I doing this if I'm just talking to myself. It's about communication but when I speak in my... » Continue Reading
It was pretty vacant today at the preserve so I didn't really have to worry about dodging many obstacles aside from some horse dung sprinklings. As I made my way through the trail I smelled something foul. It could have even been a decaying fowl for all I know. The putrid pungency overloaded my highly refined olfactory sensory system. I pressed on through the aromatic torture (in retrospect that p... » Continue Reading
I would like to go to the park and maybe dress up like a grizzly bear and ask people for trail mix. Then my friend could play Rod Stewart songs on a plastic trumpet as accompaniment. Then I once get too hot with the bear mask over my head I'll take it off and find an old pair of children's Dukes of Hazzard bedroom slippers and place them on my ears. Then I would go around pretending I can heal peo... » Continue Reading
I often wonder how people might perceive me from their perspective. I've wondered a lot about how the opposite sex views me but it's really more general than that overall. Is it futile to even contemplate such a thing? How I interpret myself versus anyone else can be radically different. Theoretically speaking could one benefit and improve a personality trait if it was possible to gain multiple pe... » Continue Reading
At least I can express who I truly am with my guitar and it's always there for me unlike people who come and go and don't understand me. Yet I still have the drive to continue to refine my guitar technique and discover new ideas along the way. Life is so confusing from this angle. It doesn't make any sense. I'm playing a tug of war with how I perceive things. Part of me tries to find direction and... » Continue Reading
Supposedly we are only capable of detecting a mere 1% of the total light spectrum. Our hearing ability also pales in comparison to dogs (up to 45,000hz) and cats (up to 100,000hz). While we can only hear up to 20,000hz. Based solely on that we should humble ourselves and be less arrogant. We should trust our animals when they detect something that we don't. However not to sell ourselves short I t... » Continue Reading
"Sweet buttons, honk your horn and that'll be your cue to swash your garments in the basin with the ladle as rotten eggs cook in the cradle. Cigar smoking moose musk. Sour snout nosed farrier on marigold bulb scaffolding. Turpentine tinkle and ivory thimble", bellowed a cello playing walrus while riding in a roasted crocus pollywog trolley. The cello buckles and from the unsavory brute force exer... » Continue Reading
I think that the importance of academia is overestimated in the field of the arts. Potentially it can lead to mindless drones mass producing bland and sterile rehashing of old ideas again and again. It might give you a fancy piece of paper depicting scholarly credentials and could possibly lead to a lucrative career if that is what you desire. However an important element that I think tends to get... » Continue Reading
Rarely do I feel better after talking to anyone in my life about my problems. Still I'm left with the same issues: I'm lonely, anxious, depressed, feeling like no one understands me. I dedicated my life to being the best guitar player I can possibly be but I still feel unappreciated and it hasn't gotten me anywhere. At this point I don't care if I lose my apartment, my car and most of possessions.... » Continue Reading
Anymore I find acoustics with the standard bridge pickup configuration under the saddle to sound like fingernails on a chalkboard. It always sounded way too compressed, sterile and lifeless no matter what EQ settings or what I ran it through. It kind of defeats the purpose of having an acoustic to me. I much prefer the organic approach. I can understand the convenience of being able to go direct ... » Continue Reading
Why is everyone so serious all of the time? Never mind the aristocrats and pedantic conformists, come on it's time to get quirking and let freedom lift dumbbells and sweeten our spirits . Let's pretend we're semi-aquatic hunchback bipeds that do gymnastics. Let's organize a quartet of English horn players that startle a heard of buffalo into trampling over unassembled desk chairs. I think the Engl... » Continue Reading
About 9 years ago my youngest brother worked as a welder at a place called Eastern Catalytic. They manufactured catalytic converters, manifolds and various car exhaust units. Before that he went to a vocational trade school to learn how to weld. A job recruiter by the name of Patrick Robbins stopped by his school to find potential candidates for welding jobs. So he ended up getting my brother a jo... » Continue Reading
