Going To Bat For The Mods

Category: SpaceHey

From time to time I peruse the blog section of this site, after the last few gore account raids I've seen a few notable of examples of people bitching and moaning about "the mods not doing their jobs". I believe this comes from a place of complete and total ignorance as to how moderation on social media sites works. Lemme lay it out for ya. First off, there's a finite number of mods on any site - ... » Continue Reading

Stomping Grounds

Category: Life

Went back to my old stomping grounds today. As I walked by the school, a guy came running up - had a cowboy hat on. It was an old buddy of mine - turns out there was a graduation ceremony going on, and his younger brother was graduating. We caught up, talked a little bit, shared phone numbers - turns out he lives just down the road from me. Six years or so since I've seen him, and here I was think... » Continue Reading

Playing As My Great (x5) Grandfather in Fallout New Vegas

Category: Games

I did a little research a while back and dug up that my Great Great Great Great Great Grandfather was a Private in The Continental Army during The American Revolution. I thought this was cool, so I downloaded a few mods for F:NV, got a Revolutionary War uniform mod, and a Kentucky Long Rifle mod, and played through the whole game as him. I sided with the NCR because they were the closest option to... » Continue Reading

Your Politics Won't Save You

Category: News and Politics

You know, I think a lot about politics for someone who doesn't consider themself political. Not even thinking about "who's right" or "who's wrong", just thinking about why and how politics went from something that people only gave a shit about every four years at max to something everyone is talking about 24/7. It didn't used to be like this, I'm certain of it. There was a time when people didn't ... » Continue Reading

Lost Media

Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

I'm obsessed with Lost Media like you wouldn't fucking believe. Have you ever seen something with your own two eyes that later became lost media? I've got a couple of stories of it myself. One was the old "Ed, Edd, N' Eduardo" shorts that aired on CN way back when. It was exactly what it sounds like, they added Eduardo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends into Ed, Edd, N' Eddy - I don't recall... » Continue Reading

Nostalgia - A 21st Century Mental Illness

Category: Life

I am of the belief that Nostalgia should at times be defined as a mental illness, the same way it was in "the olden days". With the proliferation of the internet over the last ten years, time has flown by. This isn't because everything's fun, far from it. Time doesn't only fly when you're having a good time, it flies when you're preoccupied with any task. You can sit down in a desk, in a cubicle, ... » Continue Reading

Woe To Pygmalion - An Unexpected Addendum

Category: Romance and Relationships

I have been absent for a while, I offer my sincerest apologies for this. Life has been doing what life does, and I've been thrown many curveballs in the last few weeks - I won't go into most of them here. 20 days ago I wrote a blog post called "Woe To Pygmalion", where I described the phenomena of young men and women "checking out" of the dating scene and focusing their romantic interests exclusiv... » Continue Reading

Woe To Pygmalion

Category: Romance and Relationships

I have noticed - as time has gone on - that within my generation and those surrounding it, men and women alike have increasingly shunned relationships with real, tangible, human beings in favor of romances entirely within their own heads with fictional characters. Yes, I am referring to the "waifu" and "husbando" culture which has sprouted online within the last few decades. I have seen it with my... » Continue Reading

How Many People Have You Been?

Category: Blogging

Are you like me? Do you enjoy pulling the wool over people's eyes over the slightest provocation? Hell, over no provocation at all? How many people have you been online? How many faces and names have you had? Me personally, I've almost entirely lost track - upwards of 25+ past aliases - my best friends don't even know all of them, hell, sometimes I run into people who recognize my voice and I get ... » Continue Reading

The Disappearance of Social Cohesion Online - The Death of Community

Category: Blogging

Social Cohesion, on a fundamental level, is needed for any type of community to form and maintain itself - regardless of it's size, shape, or citizenry. Social Cohesion is how well a group of people can stick together when the going gets tough - or even when nothing's happening, Social Cohesion is when people don't go for each other's throats out of boredom. For any type of community to exist - th... » Continue Reading

Strange Airport / Post Office Dream - 09/01/2023

Category: Dreams and the Supernatural

There was a man in some kind of a post office - it might've been an airport. He seemed happy enough about his job, checking parcels for contraband behind a counter - he had a smile on his face as he explained the steps to people in line. A man with a rather large box comes to the front, explaining that the box has some puppies in it - but they've already been killed and prepared (for consumption).... » Continue Reading

No Homo - an Explanation for The Women in The Audience

Category: Romance and Relationships

Putting this under "Romance and Relationships" because I think it fits in this category better than others. For the past 25 some odd years men - in America and abroad - have lived by codified but generally unspoken rules which have kept everyone simultaneously "on edge" and "in the clear". It is my job in this blogpost to help elucidate on them where I can, to offer some insight and elaboration in... » Continue Reading
