find your own meaning (in art)

Category: Art and Photography

I usually put more thought into these things but right now I just want to get thoughts out before I lose them I've been in a quite unhappy state thinking about the nature of art. All I see when I look for art is products. Content. Made for money and mass appeal. Even in less popular works of art the intent is there. Be noticed. Make a living. I can't blame people for wanting to make a living and I... » Continue Reading

thoughts/philosophy 2

Category: Religion and Philosophy

I seek connection in artists, musicians, writers, and great thinkers but I think the act of conveying emotions in the ways they do almost disqualifies them from feeling the way I do to begin with. Do I enjoy the abstract because it is only in the abstract that my emotions can be conveyed or is it simply vague enough for me to project on to? I believe in god because I feel like a poorly written OC.... » Continue Reading

Igne Purgatum Undique

Category: Religion and Philosophy

These are random snippets of my philosophy they may lack context or explanation. Writing about nonlinear esoteric subject matter in a linear and oversimplified way just doesn't feel right though that may mean this will never completely make sense to anyone but me. I will either edit this over time or make follow ups since I have a lot more written than what I am posting today. Reality and mystery ... » Continue Reading

Talk to yourself. The only time it doesn't matter what you sound like is when no one is listening. kill your inner critic and enjoy the company of yourself. Labels are for you not me. I carry labels to help you understand me but they have long since outlived their usefulness in helping me understand myself. The prey was afraid when it killed the predator. The oppressed were afraid when they overca... » Continue Reading

Aura [poiesis]

Category: Writing and Poetry

I think this is a poem. It lacks structure and it may lack meaning. I enjoyed creating this. It is a thing at least if not a poem. Feel free to read or not read my thing. Choosing not to read is participation I think. I prefer that to people never getting the option. Dry veins, wet bones they're all monsters. I was there before the stars I will be there when it ends. Why weren't you there? I was t... » Continue Reading

A no win scenario dream [CW scars, death, violence, etc]

Category: Dreams and the Supernatural

I was at work. I entered a break room. Not the break room for my department. A girl was there. She resembled my coworker combined with a childhood bully I had. She had only 3 fingers on her left hand with scar tissue where the other fingers would be if she had them. Everything was easily the clearest dream I've ever had from the location to her face to her hand. She asked to be my girlfriend. I re... » Continue Reading

Categorization is you.

Category: Religion and Philosophy

Mammal is a category. A category created by humans. You may scoff at that statement and respond with something about evolution and common ancestors and yes, absolutely, those are some of the metrics by which humans decide what belongs in the Mammal category. But humans decided there needed to be a category and humans decided by what metrics to separate animals. And when there is any ambiguity huma... » Continue Reading

Love, Devotion, and Obsession

Category: Life

Early last year in the aftermath of a difficult breakup I wrote on the subject of love, as one does in those situations. The point of it was a bit egotistical "Love is bad and everyone should approach relationships the same way I do." Even at the time I knew I was mostly just lashing out and didn't really expect the lessons to stick, but some of them did. More the cynical view of love than the alt... » Continue Reading

ART IS YOU

Category: Art and Photography

Stick figures, poems without rules, stories without grammar, whatever it takes. show me what's really inside past the conditioning that tells you you're not good enough and limits how you express yourself. Creating for money is as valid as any other means of survival but if you are creating for art's sake for your heart's sake you need to let go of the chains on your heart. conditioned rules and s... » Continue Reading
