how to get into local band scene?

i wanna be able to find local bands in my area, whether it be emo, pop, punk, etc. but i have no idea where to start.  i know a lot of them are hosted on instagram and i can check local cafes/coffeeshops for their open mic and live music nights, but other than that, i'm clueless. can anyone give me tips on where to start to get into the local music scene?  » Continue Reading
