watching horror games is one thing

playing is another :^)

the rpgmaker classics mad father, ib, and witch's house are so fucking terrifying to play. ib i had to take breaks in between because of my heartrate. and mad father i genuinely got so nauseous in the beginning i switched to a lets play by manlybadasshero

like watching i can go haha nice for several hours with the gameplay. but playing is so genuinely nervewracking. ib messed me up. the body horror in mad father is also enhanced by the pixelated graphics. you can't make out every detail. so your head fills in the rest. it's horrifying. your brain conjures so many ideas of the unknown due to the art style, and i love it

and ib barely has any body horror, but it's the implications that make you horrified. roses only grow in wholesome bodies?? WHERE ARE THEY GROWING. and you instinctively distrust every single painting because the gallery is out to KILL YOU. and you start off ALONE. childhood fear and raw terror at its finest.

anyways onto watching witch's house and completing my watch of that. i'm still new to horror so lets go
