Clone Hero using a keyboard

I heard that using a keyboard has a big disadvantage in playing Clone Hero which is not surprising considering that I'm actually struggling to even play faster songs like Dragonforce, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Slayer, etc. Tremolo picking is awkward because instead of a strum bar, I have 2 keys to press.
