For fellow survivors

Category: Life

Those who have read my profile and blogs will be familiar with my story as a TTI survivor. My own healing journey is ongoing but far from over.  This evil and abusive industry has harmed, and continues to harm,so many children. Sending healing to fellow survivors who have been harmed by the TTI and sending hope to those currently trapped in these programs. » Continue Reading

Healing journey

Category: Life

Since moving to the UK and starting a new life I have started to heal from the inner pain that I have but it’s a gradual process. I have the trauma of years of being abused by my dad and also the additional trauma of the wilderness program he had me forcibly taken to. Also the trauma of seeing him beat my mom up so often. Now that me and my mom are free of him the source of all my trauma (literall... » Continue Reading

I managed to punch one of my kidnappers on the nose

Category: Life

While I am aware that in some contexts the word gooning has another meaning among TTI survivors gooning refers to the practice of legally kidnapping teenagers and taking them to a TTI program whether it be residential or,as in my own case,a wilderness program.  I was awoken at around 3AM by two strange men in my room who told me that I was coming with them. American kid living in the UK

Category: Life

I’m an American boy who recently moved to the UK with my mom. (I am actually half British because my mom is from the UK). One of the best things is how much later school starts over here. In the US I had to start ... » Continue Reading

Wilderness program survivor

Category: Life

I’m curious if anyone else here has been through the trauma of being sent to a wilderness therapy program (or any other type of TTI program). My parents were getting divorced and my mom was going to seek custody of me. Just to spite her my dad had me kidnapped during the night (it’s actually legal for parents to do that in America) and taken to a wilderness program where I was trapped for twelve w... » Continue Reading

I love how late school in the UK starts

Category: School, College, University

I was born in the USA but recently me and my mom moved to the UK. In America I had to start school at 7:30AM. In the UK I don’t start school until 9AM. I now get up at 7:30AM,the time I would have started school at in America. I find it feels so much better and the extra sleep makes it so much easier to concentrate on my studies. I notice that in the UK there’s different names for things. For exam... » Continue Reading
