Since moving to the UK and starting a new life I have started to heal from the inner pain that I have but it’s a gradual process. While I am aware that in some contexts the word gooning has another meaning among TTI survivors gooning refers to the practice of legally kidnapping teenagers and taking them to a TTI program whether it be residential or,as in my own case,a wilderness program. I was born in the USA but recently me and my mom moved to the UK. In America I had to start school at 7:30AM. In the UK I don’t start school until 9AM. I now get up at 7:30AM,the time I would have started school at in America. I find it feels so much better and the extra sleep makes it so much easier to concentrate on my studies.
