Shark of the Week 6 - Chain Catshark

Category: Pets and Animals

Scientific name, Scyliorhinus retifer. They range from around 37 cm to 50 cm . These Catshark (also known as dogfish) are found in The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, as well as the Northwest Atlantic. Eating things like squid, bony fish, crustaceans,  and polychaetes ( Ocean worms basically ), they are nocturnal animals, sleeping much of the day and most active to hunt for food. » Continue Reading

Shark of the week - Week 5 Ginger Carpetshark

Located in western Australian waters, The Ginger Carpetshark is another harmless species to humans. Getting as Large as 2.5 feet (78 cm), residing deeper in the water at around 650-800 feet deep they aren't under any direct threat by humans. Shark of the Week - Week 4 South China Catshark

A lesser researched catshark, it was found deep below the South China Sea (western Pacific ocean) and came in at around 42cm (around 1 foot) , however the shark that was measured wasn't full grown, it's speculated to get as large as 50 cm (1 and a half feet). Shark of the Week - Week 3 Australian Angelshark

With a body similar to ray's , these beautiful sharks are found in Southern and Western Australian waters :3 with barbs by their mouth, these sharks at largest grow around 60 inches, and at average remain at around 30-35 inches.
