what will i do in the future

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

I honestly have no idea. I have enjoyed my work placement in the school, but I'm not sure if I could do it every day for 30+ years. I've been so exhausted in the past month that I had the work placement. What I do know is that I don't really care about a career. All I need is a stable income so that I can pursue my hobbies in peace, and treat myself from time to time. Is that too much to ask? A mu... » Continue Reading

I'm sooooo tired of these assignments

Category: School, College, University

I'm realising something about myself. I hate projects where I am supposed to choose my own theme/topic. I cannot engage with them. I'm not asking to be told exactly what to do, but I've enjoyed so much more the projects where I have a starting point in terms of theme/visuals, and even the materials that I can use. I have to write a proposal for the dissertation that I'll have to write in my 3rd ye... » Continue Reading

period sucks (and other news)

Category: Life

I had a pretty okay day today. It was chill for the most part, although I still didn't feel very good because of my period. I think that it's making my head really foggy, and in general it's making me very tired and spacey and it's making it hard to focus. I did have a productive though. At least I think I did. » Continue Reading

*twirls hair around finger* hello danganronpa pfps

Category: Blogging

I wish I could role play with someone... I've only ever role played once and it was years ago, but my kinnie heart is aching 🥺 I wanna act like my favourite characters sometimes... The other day I entered a vocaloid focused discord server and there was a person with a nagito pfp and I was really nervous and excited about that... I wish I were brave enough to message them about danganronpa » Continue Reading

brainfarts, period, and insecurities

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Today I was supposed to do a lesson with 12th graders, where I would show them some basics of photoshop. However, what I forgot about, is that I tend to get incredibly insecure when I'm talking with other people. I get this feeling that I am wasting their time. In this case this was unnecessary because I had been asked by that teacher to do this. However, that did not stop me from getting more and... » Continue Reading

first time teaching a class

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Today was the first day where I'd be leading a lesson instead of just helping the teacher. It went surprisingly well, although tbf I do tend to get a bit too nervous about everything... Some students were not as engaged as others, but overall I think we had a few lovely outcomes from the class! I was really happy to see that. One of the girls' eyes lit up when I was explaining something to her, it... » Continue Reading

Second week of placement done

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Today was the last day of my second week of placement. I feel like I have already learnt a lot, and I'm hopeful about my plans for the next couple weeks. A small thing happened today which made me realise why teachers are so strict and forward when it comes to making students quieten down. It's very easy to lose control of a situation, so it is better to be as quick and efficient as possible. I'm ... » Continue Reading

Quiet but stressful day

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Today the lessons I was in were very chill because it was a year 13 and year 12 class. I had time to do some prep work for a lesson plan I have to create, however tonight I kinda ruined all the work I had done because I decided to add more stuff to it with paint. The thing is, I'm not good with paint, so I don't really know how to work with it... So tomorrow I'll have to make more examples. I real... » Continue Reading

today was fine ig

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Today was fine. The teaching work placement went well, I'm glad I didn't regress to being really shy. I was worried about that since I hadn't gone to the school since Thursday. I helped out a bit like last week, but I this time I also discussed more in-depth the kinds of lessons I could also plan and teach. It's a very daunting idea, but something I will have to overcome if I'm interested in this ... » Continue Reading

pretty good first week?

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

I have finished the first week of work placement as an art teacher. I of course didn't do any actual teaching, but I have gotten more comfortable in the school environment and in the role of a teacher. I gave a bit of advice, helped out a lot as a teacher assistant, and asked a few students to stop talking and continue their work. This morning I was feeling quite anxious about how the day would go... » Continue Reading

Giving feedback is difficult

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Work placement went alright today, I gave feedback to 4 students, and 3 out of 4 went well. But the one that didn't go well is on my mind the most... The class I was helping with was drawing masks based on African masks and patterns, and a girl asked me what colour she should paint the nose. Her mask had a lot of yellow, reds, and bits of green, blue, and purple. I completely blanked out and didn'... » Continue Reading
