I have finished the first week of work placement as an art teacher. I of course didn't do any actual teaching, but I have gotten more comfortable in the school environment and in the role of a teacher. I gave a bit of advice, helped out a lot as a teacher assistant, and asked a few students to stop talking and continue their work. This morning I was feeling quite anxious about how the day would go, but in the end it turned out fine, which I'm very glad about.
I also prepared a lesson plan for the homework I have to do for my professors. I like the idea, so I think I might even present it to the teachers at the school as an idea about a lesson I could teach to a class.
I have a bunch of safety and health policies to read until next Tuesday, I hope it will not be too tedious. There's a lot of paperwork involved in this work placement in general, but I should have expected that to be fair.
