So I've played a bunch of different games during 2024, mostly indie games. I loved trying out demos during steam next fests too!
I did blog about some of the games on these blogs:
"Blog Time! A bit of gaming. Also Upcoming media/games in May";
"Games I've played as of these couple of months (July - September) ...and other gaming rambles".
2024 fr had some really great survival games like Pacific Drive and Abiotic Factor. Abiotic factor is like if Half Life 1 and SCP foundation had combined and became a survival game, it is still being worked on and will get more updates. Pacific Drive focused more on the survival with a car and driving, which is definitely a unique take on a survival game.
What was my favorite game this year? - "I Wani Hug That Gator", it's a visual novel which I'm surprised it actually grabbed my attention with the story, really well made. PLUS the soundtrack in this visual novel is sooo good! I picked it as my fav for this year since it's been a while since I got into a game's story.
What else I've played that I haven't mentioned in the older blogs?
Well...
Webfishing, it was very trending tbh, I played with friends n strangers, I played with the furry group I was part in. It's just overall cool game to hang out with friends as some animal crossing looking ah animals and just fish or GAMBLE :v
For more details on the game, I also have made steam review on it.
Mouthwashing. Another game that got trending. A story focused indie game that's horror and psychological horror. It's definitely a cool way to tell a story in a low poly indie game fr. The story taking place in different times and it's like shuffled so you have to later put together the pieces of what's going on to get the full picture.
Sorry We're Closed. I played this one on the steam next fest and it got released shortly after a month. It's like a simple silent hill type of game but with JoJo's Bizarre adventure looking characters and it smh works! I love the art on this fr, it goes stylish with the designs and UI! Story has something to do with Demons and Angels, you're breaking out of a demon's curse too. The combat is also pretty unique with the eye ability helping you get critical hits on enemies and save up on ammo but you can't shoot into far. There's some puzzles in the game too. I went through 3 of the endings so far. I smh liked Clarisa's ending since the protag ain't goin' back on that boring life grindset.
Also very funny thing is how there's a game called "Sorry We're Open" and now there's the game "Sorry We're Closed" loool ! What's next in the "Sorry we're" named games? XD
Demo games
I've played a bunch of steam next fest game demos and demos in a convention I visited. I wont cover all of the games, but I'd love to point out some that might of been interesting. I wish I had more time to play more of the steam next fest games, but sadly I got carried away with other crap in my life.
During steam Next Fest:
Home - AYO A quirky rpg game with rhythm based battles. Pixel art and music is great in this, and storywise it might go somewhere interesting. So yeah go check out this

Mohrta - a really cool and unique boomer shooter. The visuals and art look very alien and dope in this game! You can upgrade your weapons, fight some bosses and different enemies.

During the convention I visited:
Tempo Punk - Dope as hell rhythm first person shooter, you gain bunch of score based on how much you have got your shots/reloads/dashes on rhythm. Really fun to try and beat your own previous score. The UI as of the time I tried it wasn't that great, but the devs will be fixing it. I didn't like how the ammo and weapons were displayed on the side while your most focus is on the center of the screen on the rhythm bars. This game has a lot of potential for moding in the future!

Sketch crawler - a super unique dungeon crawler card game where you can customize everything!! I got this game for free during the time the demo was shown :D

Get Your Tentacles Off My Waifu! - This hands down made me laugh so hard seeing the game demo stand, best thing I've seen there :'DDDDD I did not expect a brony game :vvvv
It's essentially a shoot em up where u have to rescue your pony waifus XD and also u can get some upgrades at your base.

Other thing I'd mention is I've gotten a Steam Deck at November and it's such a great device for the on the go when you have so many break hours on your work!! I'll have to cover more about the Steam Deck at some point :D
That's pretty much it! I played a bunch of roblox games on 2024, but I'll cover that on the other blog part.
