Jeez, I really need to use this more. I've recently switched to Linux Mint on my desktop, after having it for a while on my laptop after switching from Debian on it. Had to reinstall pretty quickly with some Xorg issues (dunno what happened but I completely lost access to a GUI) Going well otherwise, installed Fallout 4 and it plays as well as Fallout 4 ever does hahaha. » Continue Reading
My mother recently switched to a 2015 iMac for business use, and so I have her old Lenovo E50 laptop. I've installed Debian 11 on it, and am having fun, but I don't know what really to do with it beyond browsing in the living room instead of on my power-hungry gaming desktop upstairs. Any ideas? » Continue Reading
Been using Android 12 for a little while now on my Nokia 5.4, and overall I like it. Though it hasn't been a miracle performance booster for my phone, it has had some benefits and no downsides to my knowledge. The new interface/wallpaper colour theme thing is pretty sweet, and seeing the camera still update when on the app switcher is fun if not exactly helpful. My phone (Nokia 5.4) finally got Android 12, seems pretty neat so far. I like the wallpaper colour theming especially. Gonna have to see how things play out with it. Some say their Nokia improved in performance on A12 after a sluggish and broken A11. » Continue Reading
Was with my mother dropping off some rubbish at the tip, and ended up coming out with an old HP Compaq dx2000 MT case. I think it being tech got my interest, and it resembling my first ever desktop PC's case very closely (same line) made me want to rescue it from being disposed of. Thinking of building a lightweight PC running Linux in it, and using it as a test bench for some of the parts I ha... » Continue Reading
I couldn't get past the incredibly wide spacing of the landscape keys, though I haven't found a keyboard that fixes that. Also, anyone else kinda not a fan of how a lot of phones nowadays have rounded corners on their screens? I keep thinking about it with my Nokia 5.4, and looking at an ad for an Oppo Reno7. » Continue Reading
Trying out landscape typing more on my phone. So far, I like the feel of it, and my little finger thanks me for not constantly resting my phone on it. Though, the keys on GBoard are awfully wide when landscape, leads me to having to stretch for the outer letters, and seeing what you're responding to isn't very possible on something like Discord. Hopefully I'll keep at it, maybe update in a w... » Continue Reading
It's really low quality and the music's compressed to a ridiculous degree, but it's fairly responsive and the music is lovely and kinda nostalgic with all the compression. » Continue Reading
