People seem to love the idea of having a one perfectly matched person to them that will be their complement. We find those 'soulmates' in romantic partners or platonic relationships. From my perspective i don't belive in soulmates that way. I kind of find it ridiculous that in a world of 8 bilion people there is only one complementing for each person.
