The "new" social media sites: just the same thing over and over?

I know, clickbaity title, but allow me to explain myself. I have gotten accounts on both Bluesky and Mastodon and both ended up being the exact same exhausting parts of Twitter but primarily left-leaning instead of right-leaning.
