The sound quality is honestly very good for both. I don't know if anyone else here still uses them but they're pretty nice. I'll usually use my Cassette players for on the go and Vinyl records for at home. I also repair these types of devices. Currently been learning about VCR's and how to get those working again. It's a way to relax honestly. It is also nice to restore something that isn't working to a working condition. Not every one of them is gonna be a win but that just makes them donor parts anyway.
