On Sunday, you found me at Jackson’s place. I know you were mad, and you had every right to be, but I needed support, too, you know? Your face was red, and I never thought that I could be afraid of you until then. You started yelling at us and accusing us of doing things. It was really scary. Finally, I recognized that expression in your eyes as the one my dad had right before he’d get violent. I ... » Continue Reading
Things were alright for a while, but then one night while we were making invitations, you asked me if I was inviting my “best friend,” Jackson. You were testing to see my reaction because you knew I hadn’t been totally honest in the past. I told you he was a big jerk for blowing me off after high school, but really, I never reached out to him, either. You gave me a funny look, so I said you were “... » Continue Reading
I waited until Jackson invited us to a birthday get-together to introduce you to each other properly. It went well, I thought, but afterwards you said that I was never “this happy” around just you anymore. I told you that your need for reassurance was becoming too much, but I could have said it nicer. You said that I didn’t care anymore, but I think I did. You were trying to be supportive by comin... » Continue Reading
I was happy for you when you were up for that promotion, even though I knew it meant moving, and I didn’t know what that meant for me. You didn’t take the offer right away, because you wanted us to think about our future together, but I knew it was killing you inside that you couldn’t tell your dad about it yet. Then, you started getting interviewed by Valerie for her journalism internship. Why di... » Continue Reading
That was about a year before I met you. You came to my first show and sat in the front row. You were so handsome that I almost messed up my lines. And then you met me outside, and we got to know each other. You were the local hero from the fire brigade who made headlines saving that three-year old boy from drowning in the pool when his parents blacked out drunk. You downplayed it, saying that your... » Continue Reading
My first semester at university, I hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the first time. My boyfriend, Garret invited his family to the apartment, and I was super anxious to meet them for the first time. We got into a little argument in the morning, because I wasn’t wearing the top that he bought me and he said my outfit wouldn’t make as good of an impression. I felt like I picked a good dress that I loo... » Continue Reading
In high school, I joined the choir. I wasn’t the best singer in the group, but I did the best that I could. I remember rushing home everyday, listening to as many of the classic Broadway records as I could get my hands on, before dad got home and I had to turn the music off. I practiced trying to sing all of their songs like they did. On Fridays I would go to the record store and buy them from the... » Continue Reading
Once, I was out walking with Jackson, the boy who used to do puzzles. His parents put him in a different school, not because he was gifted, which he was, but because he was bullied in our elementary school. Well we were walking down our street when we ran into Benny, whose parents always just let him wander the city unsupervised. Because he wasn’t from our school, Jackson never met Benny before. I... » Continue Reading
Things got so weird in middle school. I thought I was friends with everyone in elementary school. Sure, there were kids I didn’t like, or who were rude, but for the most part, it seemed like everyone got along. I guess we weren’t really friends, but it felt like at least we could be friends, if we wanted to be. But I remember that first year of middle school, I felt like everyone just changed over... » Continue Reading
I remember when I was a kid, I had a friend named Jackson. Jackson was a year younger than me, but my mom was friends with his, so there you have it, we were friends. Actually, that’s how I’d like to remember it, but I can’t remember ever actually spending time with him unless I had to, when our parents pushed us together. A year doesn’t seem like much, but when you’re a kid, it feels like anyone ... » Continue Reading
Damn so things got a little weird in my life for a while. I'd say it's been like a roller coaster with the all the ups and downs, but roller coasters are actually fun. Anyway, yeah it's been almost 3 months since I last posted on here, but yeah, I'm thinking I'm back. So I meant to be using this area as sort of a place to document where I'm at in life so that I can actually remember when great thi... » Continue Reading
So, I finally got around to watching last year's Snyder Cut of the 2017 Justice League. It was pretty good. Really long, obviously, but good, and I enjoyed the full runtime. The original (Joss Whedon's "Josstice League") just wasn't doing it for me. It's crazy how Cyborg has a whole storyline and character arc that was cut out of the original 2017 release. I still love Ben Affleck as Batman. Why c... » Continue Reading
