Welcome to my Blog where I talk about games, experiences, and other stuff that bothers me. Just remember this important phrase. If you see or hear me talking a lot, just assume I don't really know for the most part. » Continue Reading

The Karters 2 first impressions for Karters 2 players. (Games Playing Right Now #20)

Category: Games

This was gonna be a message in a discord community I am a part of, but they don't like me posting large blocks of word soup so it will be posted here so I can link them to the word soup instead. Alright, tutorials done and a fine trial run of some of the game's content has been given a fair try.  tl;dr I'll defiantly play this game if I am invited, but I wouldn't host this myself over Ring Racers.... » Continue Reading

Video comment to recap and continue the mind thread even further beyond.

As a comment to this video: Game difficulty being dynamic is pretty nice for personalized gaming with the only trade off being game rule unity. Singleplayer games can very i » Continue Reading

I don't love physical as much as everyone else. (The Real Costs of Games #9)

Category: Games

I decided to argue why disks can be a problem today. Probably because I have bias favoring digital. All of these problems I bring up should be fine if you are willing to deal with them over the problems with digital you are having. Ownership of disk contents doesn't exist and some games rely on paid user accounts to function anyway. Stuff like game updates are also still served digitally unless yo... » Continue Reading

Service, Presented, and Genre rules. How we lose games over arguments about the rules. Continued Mind Thread.

Category: Games

Blog post Context and terms: Are what we call "games" really games at all? Mind Thread. As we know, players don't typically know all the rules of games using playware. It's often left to the computer to do what's needed to follow the rules from the program. A game's rules with playware would look about something like this. Game Rules Let players' computers run the playware un » Continue Reading

Are what we call "games" really games at all? Mind Thread.

Category: Games

The common definition of a game is an activity where everyone involved agrees to follow a set of rules an competition or cooperation to win.  So why is it that many things that we call games don't fit into that definition?  Unlike playing many board games, playing video games doesn't require the players to know the rules. Rather, then computer or server decides what happens and if you win or lose.... » Continue Reading

Cool Air Riders Things to Mention. (Games Playing Right Now #19)

Category: Games

Neat Air Riders things. The One Complaint If you are in the gummies mode and specifically use a GameCube controller, the button layout is set up to where if you want to aim and fling gummies while moving, you need to use the forbidden grip known as the claw. It's not like the game doesn't support the controller either. The game uses legit GameCube glyphs and control binds and yet the game has this... » Continue Reading

Does it matter if a game is hard? (The Real Cost of Games #8)

Category: Games

Not the most comprehensive blog I have written, but considering that talking about game difficulty is the kind of topic that makes anyone look dumber the longer they talk about it with myself as no exception, I think I'll close the writing off here and rethink it another time. In the meantime, here is a fun Kirby Air Riders video that sources Sakurai's video and has a much more cohesive and narrow... » Continue Reading

SKG | What are serviced games and how to protect them.

Category: Games

Here is another overcooked blog. I have included two versions of the Benji game example and explanation as it's hard to write it cohesively. This is what I get for not having my writings peer reviewed and having other stuff to do. Context:  https://www.stopkillinggames.com/ I'm pretty sure this campaign might actually be limiting itself. Now I think it's for the better as challenging every industr... » Continue Reading

You don't have to hate a game you can't finish. I love SMT5V even though I have dropped it mid playthrough 3 times.

Category: Games

I was watching Yhatzee's Semi-Ramblomatic video where he ended up being really confused on his feelings about Silksong . I remembered how I feel about the games Shin Megami Tensei V and SMT5 Vengeance so I'm here to tell you that a game being finished or not does not correlate to if you love a game or not. The Silksong Blog Post. (Games Playing Right Now #18)

Category: Games

Game Hard. Silksong has had it's same song and dance every other big souls like that attracts a wide audience goes through. Game is too hard.  Strife and friction can lead to players doing pretty much anything to change their outcomes rather than stay blocked behind a challenge. In most games, players try something else in-game like new builds and other ways of getting stronger, but even that get ... » Continue Reading

Nintendo somehow made a bad Direct. Not even mid, just bad in my opinion. (The Real Costs of Games #7)

Category: Games

Normally, there is always some reason to like a direct. Somehow Nintendo didn't even do the minimum to get me any more excited. Bananza got some early DLC for $20 in the latest direct. I was thinking that the high prices were supposed to stop Nintendo from pushing out DLCs, but it seems I guessed completely wrong. I also guessed wrong on the price as I was already miffed with the idea of even $10 ... » Continue Reading
