Nintendo somehow made a bad Direct. Not even mid, just bad in my opinion. (The Real Costs of Games #7)

Normally, there is always some reason to like a direct. Somehow Nintendo didn't even do the minimum to get me any more excited.

Bananza got some early DLC for $20 in the latest direct. I was thinking that the high prices were supposed to stop Nintendo from pushing out DLCs, but it seems I guessed completely wrong. I also guessed wrong on the price as I was already miffed with the idea of even $10 being the price, let alone a whopping $20! That is a big no twice over. Suck it.

But they also decided to release SMG 1 and 2 as stand alone or bundle because of the coming movie. As much as I like the idea of new stuff in 2, I am also really miffed. Galaxy 1 and 2 are fun, but not that replayable so I don't see why I want to play them again. There is also the possibility that my copy of 3D All-Stars is no longer the definitive version because of new features in the new releases for some reason. They make me feel like an idiot for buying a game I grew up with. If you haven't played them, I actually recommend emulating them and possibly finding a backport of the new storybook stuff. If you can't, don't worry about it and emulate. All I'm concerned with is showing that we have better ways to spend our money then on scams.

There is also a bunch of other stuff that I am either indifferent to or just mad about by such as various DLC including a third party game reveal that has day 1 DLC.

Just go play Silksong for $20 instead. The game industry is crossing a line with some of these releases considering Air Riders is the only one I even remotely like. Hope I don't jinx it.

Anyway, the price betrayal means that the price model is even less in their favor than before. Hope this is where Nintendo crosses the line where these kinds of decisions start to seem less favorable to them.
