Earlier today, after a night of being unable to sleep, I had an orthopedic appointment. He wanted to check in, and see how my wrist and hand were responding to the healing process.
So far, the break has healed and everything looks good on the x-rays.
...however, the pain had not stopped and seemed to be intensifying. Which my wife helped explain in detail when I couldn't find the right words.
He listened, and was upset when he learned that my physical therapist wanted to fit me with a cast. Which is a huge no no, because it would hinder all the healing progress I've made.
The guy got all puffed up, and "Dad angry" when my Wife explained what they wanted to do. And he said not to get the cast, and to go to the appointment he recommended.
He wants me to get cortisol injections in my neck to help with the pain. I was heavily reticent about it. Due to my panic disorder, but after today I think it might be a good idea.
I had no idea that the tendon in my wrist was out of place. So, he gave me a cortisol shot and helped put the tendon back into place. Which, made a loud popping noise that everyone in the room heard and the pain went away after.
The needle hurt like hell, but I can move my fingers. ( I still can't feel anything through them due to nephropathy. But it's nice to be able to move them without pain.)
