Today was productive, I think. Im still behind on a few things but hey, I got a lot done.
I just finished practicing my guitar today. I remember when Bocchi the rock first came out and I watched it as it was airing essentially but I'm only really feeling motivated now. Almost a year later, I want to pick up the guitar again. I only practiced for half an hour and I learnt the intro The Adults Are Talking by The Strokes. I love that song to death but it's never really been a song that I've wanted to play on guitar, like it's good for every other reason than the guitar. Anyway, it's a pretty easy intro but my fingers hurt. I hope to be like Bocchi some day. (Except not a NEET).
I read two chapters of Pride and Prejudice. I'm on chapter 12 and I think I'm going through this book too slowly but sometimes I just can't read that much. Other times, I can read plenty. I'll try to aim to read 4 chapters a day.
I did not exercise today. I don't exercise on the weekends for some reason. It's embarrassing to do workouts in your room and your family walks in. Shit's so damn embarrassing, says Tyler the Creator. I didn't even have a healthy diet today either. I skipped lunch and had many unhealthy snacks. I had a good breakfast and a good dinner though. I had some iced coffee too. I can't stop thinking of coffee and cereal though, that's such a good combo.
I learnt about this weird guy in history who had social anxiety and to his credit, mental health treatment was terrible in his time. Anyway, he owned a large plot of land ordered for tunnels to be built under that land. Nobody knew why but there were lots of rumors about him. After his death some guy claimed that they had a lobe affair and some girl claimed that he was her step father who faked hist death. I don't remember his name though sorry about that. I watched an interview with Sofia Coppola too. She's actually really smart and well spoken. I never really liked Lost I'm Translation but I might rewatch it after seeing that interview, I have a better understanding of her vision for that film now. Anyway, the advice that I wanna give comes from this interview where she said that you should try to do something creative every day. Which is why I tried to cram some guitar practice in at 9pm.
I didn't write today. I finished a review yesterday so, I didn't feel the need to. I'm currently just working some stuff out behind the scenes. Good news that made me ecstatic. Someone subscribed to my publication, so they get like emails whenever I post a new review and they consistently read my reviews that's so cool.
This one's a doozy, there's a lot to discuss here for the media consumption thing. I watched The Italian Job from 1969 and that was a really fun heist movie and it was just really funny for some reason, there's a musical number in that movie. I read Berserk, it was a good chapter but I don't have too much to say on it. However, I do have an awful lot to say about Fire Punch, so I put I'll lay my thoughts out neatly and they are all summarized.
Summarized thoughts on Fire Punch chapter 6-10 :
I actually really love it, it feels like Fujimoto is trying to tell a story and is not just being edgy for the sake of it
Poor San, he's too innocent and for good reason, he's like 8. Poor guy
Fujimoto is a cruel man who plays on my emotions isn't he? with that whole thing with the dogs. That was so fucked up, why? Just why?
I actually really like a lot of the characters they introduce besides the villains of course. I like San, I like the main character, I like the other girl that I forgot the name of. I like Togata but I have some thoughts on that person.
Final thought, Togata is really interesting, one of favorites so far. I do relate to the movie stuff, if I don't watch movies for a while, I get withdrawal symptoms but their so odd. Like they have their own moral compass. Also quick question, what is Togata's gender? The folks in the manga refer to them as female and on anilist they refer to them as male and on Google they refer them with they/them.
I should have made a separate bulletin for this. Let's move on, I watched some Arrested development, like usual. Very funny although a weaker episode. I also caught up with Frieren, it's a great anime, give it a watch.
I studied a bit, not too much. I'm not too nervous about these next few tests. Im more worried about my art project. I need to get some supplies and finish it up tomorrow.
I didn't socialize today. My sister went to her friend's party and I was hoping that her friend's mom would drop her off cause her friend's mom is attractive. I prepared too, I wore deodorant and made sure I looked presentable but my dad just picked her up. Oh well.
That's it, thanks for reading. I'm sorry for popping off on Fire Punch, I love Fujimoto. Next time I have so many thoughts on something, I'll just put it in a bulletin. I just think Fire Punch is cool, it reminds me of starting Chainsaw Man, finishing my homework early so that I could read a chapter every night. Chainsaw Man has etched itself into my brain. We all have those pieces of media that just means so awful much to us and Chainsaw Man means a lot to me and I can see Fire Punch being etched right next to Chainsaw Man. Fujimoto really is a genius, I like to think it's because some girl bullied him in college. Also, Fujimoto is just weird, I wish I had his passion, like the dude was taking this art class with a bunch of elderly people and he said that if he wasn't as good as them in a year, he'd kill them. That's so messed up and he ate his goldfish for some reason. I do think he's probably a chill dude though who just really needs therapy, like he has serious issues. I know that his work is so meaningful to me and many others but sometimes I wonder if Fujimoto is alright.
Also this image amuses me and it's from Fire Punch so I'm being topical as they say.

Omg omg i love the strokes thats so exciting :DD
AND UR STILL READING FIRE PUNCH THATS EVEN MORE EXCITING!! I honestly felt so bad for San too, my boy. I love him sm he’s not talked abt enough by the community, he’s honestly possibly my fav character from fire punch!!!!! Fujimoto is so good at writing stories that are so so odd but pull at your heartstrings. Its so humane
ALSO YIPPEEE TOGATA :DDDD WOOOO [CROWD CHEERS]
Dont worry about the gender and honestly you know fujimoto, when it comes to any character based things its’ best to just read blindly. GO IN BLIND! DONT ASK QUESTIONS!
Togata just like me fr (something is v wrong abt togata)
I think fujimoto is peculiar but i get him. Bro is so real. i get the “if im not better than these people [art skill wise] i need to explode to building” mentality. He HAD to get better yk!!! no other option! is it a healthy mindset? IDK BUT IT WORKED!
srry for the long comment uu ALSO SEEING THAT IMAGE OF AGNI IS SUCH A JUMPSCARE HDDFGKHDF I WASNT EXPECTING IT
Alright, I'll just keep on reading. I trust Fujimoto enough, he's probably one of my, if not my favorite living manga author. He's such an oddity but you're right, look at him now, he's one of the most popular manga authors out there today even if it took him threatening to kill the elderly and eating his own goldfish and getting bullied in college. Also, I had that image saved in my gallery for a long time now and I only very recently found out that it came from Fire Punch and in finding out this information while reading Fire Punch and writing this blog, it felt as if the stars had aligned and I just had to post it. The context is probably gonna be messed up so I'm just gonna enjoy the image as amusement until I get there.
