i hate the holy roman empire

im in ap euro history rn (which im surprisingly doing ok in?) and with that came a revelation that..

i fucking hate the holy roman empire. Voltaire said it best when he said "the holy roman empire is neither holy, nor roman, nor an empire" because he's absolutely fucking right. why does the map look like that? why is it all split into all these different tiny chunks when that literally makes no sense at all? can you imagine if virginia beach was in a completely different state from norfolk? that would make no sense at all! so, why is it ok when central europe does it in the olden days, huh? 

I SWEAR TO WHICHEVER PIMPLE-LADEN 7TH GRADER IS IN CHARGE OF THIS FORESAKEN TIMELINE, WHOEVER IS CHARLEMANE OR HOWEVER THE FUCK YOU SPELL IT'S REINCARNATION IN 2023, SHOULD GO SIT IN A CORNER AND REALLY WONDER WHAT THEY WERE ON IN THEIR PAST LIFE. 

anyways the holier cathryn empire which i literally just came up with is 10 times better so yeah.
