When did your touch become so bleak

your eyes see everything but what you seek

Coldness arises from your hand in mine

and I do my best to exude the warmth I know you need

What I need I think I've earned

You made me wait my turn

And all I want is what I gave in return

Nothing you could say could turn me away

I'd give everything to love you but

that's not enough to stay

I wanna feel your love coursing through my veins

but when I look inside, all I can find

is a little boy, alone and afraid

you've really got me thinking 

about the weather on our date

but the fact that we're together

is enough to make me pay anyway
