Today I ended up sniping some 3dmark scores from other 3930k users. I had a secret weapon up my sleeve that helped me make up ground from my clock speed disadvantage that I had from a now decently degraded cpu.
it honestly felt kind of cheap doing this, but whatever, a score is a score, regardless of how its done
That weapon was my RTX 2080 TI FTW3 from my main rig. I knew that most people had logged those scores on weaker SLI setups from 2013 and older, and a few from last month, but using a single R9 380. Most of those SLI cards were GTX titans, 780's, 980's and the odd crossfire 290/390x. I knew I could likely take down the 780's and 290x's with a single 2080 TI with a healthy overclock.
However my main rig looks sad now without its gpu. 
My suspicions proved correct for the most part. The quad SLI rigs (780/980/780 TI), especially those under liquid nitrogen were far and away still much faster. Id likely need a 4090 to brute force my way to the top of those without resorting to exotic cooling like for cloud gate, firestrike and firestrike extreme scores.
