Day 9 of improving myself until I get a girlfriend

This entry is really late. I promise I haven't been busy, I just haven't had a chance to write until now. Why waste anymore time, let's begin.

I had debate yesterday so I spent most of the day away from home but when I finally did get home, I read some Kafka. I'm in a really long chapter now, I mean in comparison to the rest of the chapters, it's like 60 pages and I decided to read half of it only and then I'd read the other halt the next day (today).

Yesterday, I missed lunch though but I almost had 3 full meals. I had a good hearty breakfast and a good dinner. I didn't have the cash for lunch. I was at the shop where i usually buy my coffee and lunch before debate and I walked in and realized that I only had enough money for one of the two because I forgot to ask my parents for money. I chose the coffee because it helps.

I studied at the Cafe and I studied at home. I went through all the work I did in class. It's exam season and I need to get a good start on all this so I mostly did revision. I didn't want to walk into a test and not know some basic concept that I learnt in the very first lesson.

I actually haven't been writing for my tumblr blog recently. I've been writing some fiction recently. Nothing that I feel ready to post just yet but I enjoy writing these things. They're mostly for a little side project that I'm working on in the background but eventually I will post my fiction. Naturally, my work recently has been Kafka inspired.

Of course I did my hygiene, I had to go out in the hot sun all day and I didn't wanna stink so I made sure that I will smell and look fresh throughout the day.

Cultural enrichment is going to have less emphasis on it because I can't just watch movies all day but I will track some of the shows that I watch and albums that I listen to. I watched an episode of The wire and it's good. If you haven't already, watch the first 2 episodes to get you hooked. The pilot is really lukewarm but it picks up. It's so good. I know most of you are Queers like me and 2 of the characters are actually openly gay. One is a lesbian (but she's also a cop so that's unfortunate) and the other is not confirmed yet but there is this like gangster character who I think is gay because the drug dealers that he steals from called him an f-slur and there was a scene where he gave this guy a big smooch on the forehead. He is a heinous criminal but atleast he's not a cop. Before you watch the wire just know that it's about drugs and cops and gangsters so trigger warning for everything that comes with it.

Speaking of the queer community, I had debating. Someone in the team wanted to name the debate team The zesty besties. Anyway, it was a content session which I love. This usually entails our coach going through the basics and fundamentals of debate. I learnt a lot, way more than I can fit into one measly blog post. He is the wisest person I've ever met. Anyway to summarize we learnt that we must read and write more. When I got home, I wrote in my commonplace book because that's what he recommended.

Thank you for reading. Today's piece of advice is La Vie En Violette (I'm sorry to the French, idk if I spelt that correctly) or Life in Purple. What makes Purple is red and blue. The blue is order or life as you know it and red is chaos and passion or a whole new world outside your own. It's important that you are grounded in blue but also that you step into the red and pursue knowledge outside of your comfort zone. That's where the Purple comes in, it's a mixture of chaos and order. It's important to have both of these things to grow as a person. Expand your wisdom and experience as much of life as you can but make sure you come out the same on the other side of those experiences. I'll say it again to hammer it home "La vie en violette (Life In Violet)"
