Ryane is Quinn's human love interest. She's not the usual scared little human that usually fills this role.
She is legitimately scared and has a very long list of reasons to be however I wanted to spin it so that even though she's scared and not physically as strong as any of them she is by far the bravest.
Ryane will stand up to Quinn and advocate for what she wants. This is really weird for him and catches him off guard quite a few times in part because how tf can a human talk to him like that! But she comes to love him and he loves her so it's not insulting. I hope that makes sense. lol
Quinn states repeatedly he doesn't want a prisoner. He wants HER. He deeply admires and respects her for being so brave and forward despite everything. Too often we see "you're mine" in movies as "you're body is mine."
Ryane's heart is his. He fucking earned it and he's gonna keep it by making her happy and treating her like a partner.
So when he tells Ryane "you're mine" it means something different. I think everyone wants that sense of belonging. But it's spun to look like a power dynamic where one has more of an ownership role. It's easy to confuse with "You're mine because I own you."
It also works the other way around. He belongs to her too. She CLEARLY wants him. She doesn't reluctantly let herself be dragged along. She has an active and enthusiastic role in the relationship. She sets boundaries and he respects them.
And yes he is a murderer who enjoys torture.
