Is it okay to write out prayers instead of speaking them? I am Christian and I’ve always been taught that my prayers must be spoken- BUT there are a few issues:
I have trouble talking sometimes. My brain will shut down and it becomes extremely hard to speak. I have to force myself to and it’s borderline painful and extremely quiet.
Also, I saw that some people keep “prayer diaries,” but that is the opposite of what I’ve been taught. Any advice?

I'm not Christian, but religion is something you mold to feel comfortable in, and if you would feel better writing down your prayers, then write them down!! Going nonverbal can be a really awful experience, and forcing yourself to speak through that can just make it worse.
I don't know your god, but I'd like to imagine that he would rather you feel safe and comfortable rather than making prayer something to fear and force yourself through.
Your religion is your own, and don't let what you were taught get in the way of what is personally best for you.
I hope things get better, and I hope I was able to offer some help.
