Poetry I’ve written pt. 1

Howling wind and trees

Steps pattering through our walls

Ocean in the sky

WHISPERS OF THE POND

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This cold air is nice

It doesn’t sting my sore throat

I see an eagle

And I hear a rooster crow

As I watch the muddy pond

Rain makes little drop sounds

As it falls into the water

Spirals circle rain

To make a pretty pattern

To make the lake more welcome

Pollen floats on the pond

Making the surface dirty

Bobs between ripples

Created by a spring rain

As green grass incircles us

How many fish hide

Beneath the polluted water

Reflection of trees

Covering their sacred home 

Minnows swim and hide

MELODY OF DAY AND NIGHT

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Up in the sky sun shines bright

Glowing with confidence 

Then comes the night

Secret bandit steals the clouds

Hides them in a misty shroud 

Extends a cape of glittery stars

That reaches near and reaches far

Blows a misty breeze  

That ruffles the tallest trees

And while most are asleep

There comes the reign of a Queen 

Some nights she slowly grows

Other times her size slows

She controls the waves flow

The sea bobs to and fro

And as she leaves without goodbye

A small sun retakes the sky

Pinks and greens, purples and blue,

The day returns

Bright and true.

But still her face watches hidden

For with the sun she is smitten

And dusk and dawn they slowly dance

In an eternal trance

The earth, a love letter to each other

The seasons, paragraphs, 

Longing for another

And so the love

Between the two queens

Plays out all year, 

Like a golden ring

Oh Carolina wren! 

How you elude me!

I only wish you would include me

In the secret club of followers you’ve obtained

They all have one thing in common

They stopped, sudden, with longing

Pausing 

to hear your song

How I wish I could hear it

Your beautiful lyrics

Your pitch just perfect every time

I’ll wait and see

And hopefully

You’ll allow me in your society 

Heart wrenching

Do u ever get like,, love sick kinda?

 Like u love someone so much it hurts, 

your not obsessed over them in a creepy way but you love them so much they are all you think abt,, 

all your actions are done for them,, they are everything and anything,,,

I can’t read signs at all,,, don’t know if I’m lying to myself or if you like me back,,, 

But then you say you don’t like anyone like that,,, 

And it’s a wave of reality crashing through my throat,,,

My hair still smells like salt,,,,

But your hat smells like your shampoo,,, 

Your lips look like a desert,,,

Your face is like a painting,,,

And I want to kiss you so bad,,,

I think I might break in two

Real friends

Say pay me back

But they don’t mean it

Share embarrassment 

And defeat

Laugh so hard

They might pee their pants

Crack open like nuts

And bloom like flowers

Drink out of the same cup

And spit out the same drink 

Stare at sunsets together

And cry about how they’ll never be together this long again
