(geez i’ve changed so much since i first wrote this)
syr:inge is the name of the band that my ocs are in together! They are an iryou kei band, which, for more information on iryou kei, see:
Anyways, here's some info on the band!
syr:inge started in mid-1999, with the lineup including...
-------------------------------------------------------------
yukito: guitar, occasional vocals (also the main songwriter)
kazui: lead vocals
sakai: bass, keyboards
kirito: drums
-------------------------------------------------------------
In early 2000, they made their demotape titled "hospitalized!" which was very experimental and strange-sounding at the time, however whatever they were trying to accomplish with this, it worked!
BECAUSE just later that year, they released their debut album "going mental" and it did surprisingly well upon it's release, well, as well as it could in the underground vkei community in japan at the time...
This would mark their very first concert as well, where they preformed all the songs from the album, along with a single titled "chainsaw murder"
This concert would throw them into Japan's public eye for the very first time, but not necessarily in a good way. Once discovered by the masses, they were seen as too explicit and...well, frightening, to become at all successful, but they didn't want national success, they just wanted recognition in the vkei community, so things were basically fine, they just kind of had a reputation. (This will be returned to later)
The new year 2001 came around and they began work on a new album called "villains revenge" which took them about half a year to complete, but they got it done all right! But after they released villains revenge, drummer kirito abruptly left the band. They didn't make the reasoning for his leave known publicly, as they felt it wasn't necessary to give out information like that after cutting ties with kirito, but since I am their creator, I know the reason and I can tell you!
Kirito got involved with some drugs, which resulted in inability to actually DRUM anymore, and he also didn't tell his bandmates about it at the time, so yeah he uh... left after that.
Anyway, they took a short break after that, but then came back in 2002 with a new drummer, Natsuki! After Natsuki joined the band, they released their second single, "tied up!" which was a fairly big deal for them because the previously mentioned underground vkei community LOVED. THIS. SONG. So there we go, back into music for the first time in almost a year! But not only did they love the song...they also loved the band members, which would cause some drama because a rumor started up that yukito was taking advantage of his fame to get with some of their fans, which was actually true, he did in fact do that. I'm usually not the kind of guy to defend this kinda thing, but yukito handled everything very responsibly. He is also fictional. SO I’LL SAY WHATEVER I WANT.
Anyway, that's all for now, I'll probably make a part two to this at some point so all you syr:inge fans can have a little something to look forward to
