Forums (a lost art)

If you see this, please help me gather a list of still active forum sites! :] I want to gather as many internet forum sites as I can.

Fun, interesting ones and ones centered around certain hobbies, fandoms, interests, etc- I just really miss the old days of going online and meeting a ton of people through forums and getting human interaction out of that rather than posting into the cold void of social media. (Social media has its perks too, don't get me wrong, but there's something about having a forum of people into the same things as you that really rocks.)

For the purposes of this blogpost I don't mean sites with forums built in (like Spacehey or Toyhouse), but forums that ARE the website. Here is a small list of the few I can name off the top of my head.

The Bell Tree Forums - A fan forum for the Animal Crossing games by Nintendo. I remember these helping me out a lot when I was younger playing New Leaf. :]

FeralFront- A forum geared towards roleplay, writing, and "'nerdy' things". I used to use this avidly when it was still a Warrior Cats-centric roleplay forum, and it ruled. It featured a cat creator on-site for your profile icon. I'm not sure about what it's like today, but it's awesome that it's still alive.

Squidboards- A Splatoon-centric fan forum! I've never went on it much, but I did discover it the other day when seeking out Pools to join and was delighted to see it pretty dang active.

...and finally, as a resource for those who want to start their own forums,

Proboards- A website that helps you make a free public forum website. It's pretty nice looking and feels so cool to see come together. An example of a site hosted off Proboards is Warrior Cats Forums, another forum I found while trying to find FeralFront. It's pretty easy to use from what I remember and can have some nice results.

Forums are a fun way to make friends or stay in touch with/collaborate with existing friends about things you like, think of a Discord server but...well, larger, and more customizable, and you can have (gasp) forum signatures and special ranks and titles. It's pretty fun and I am a bit sad that Discord seems to be cannibalizing forums, even if it is admittedly easier to have all your communities in one place. :[

But it's fun. Try it! Make a forum for your friends to post art, writing, and talk about video games with. Make a forum for discussing or roleplaying your favorite fandoms. Make a forum geared towards cosplay advice, bug identification, arcade hunting, or geocaching. Literally anything goes.

This has been my forum propaganda. I'd love to see some old treasured forums, or some new ones to join! :]

Yeaaahh! I'm super glad my propaganda did its job lol! They can feel pretty vast for sure, I get that. Whenever I was on a forum my friends and I usually found a little niche board/section and mostly hanged out there, but I did get curious and just lurked on other boards to see what was goin on there sometimes. (I know I usually seek out the off topic / forum game boards for low effort fun and socialization!)

I hope you can find one you like! :D There's probably tons of them out there that just fly under the radar.
