Another amazing film! Set in post-WWI, Yorkshire, England, Tom, Firth's character, visits the town of Oxgodby (actually named Osgodby) to restore a medieval mural in an old church where he sleeps. Meanwhile, he deals with symptoms of PTSD, and so does his new-found friend, James Moon, who lives just outside the church in a tent, doing excavations. Ironically, with the name Moon, he suffers from night terrors. The mural contains secrets about the small town and opens us up to Tom's and Moon's experiences. It is a wonderfully thought-provoking film about history, war, religion, and love. The film is pastoral and dreamy. I recommend it!
