Review
I won't beat around the bush here. I am obese. I have recently taken steps to learn more about, and deal with my condition, but its a long journey ahead of me. To that end, I thought this book would help diagnose and treat a part of my obesity. After all, I do have quite an appetite. Needless to say however, I am not a binge eater, and I was woefully ignorant as to what binge eating really is, despite having read of it before. This wasn't a waste of a read however, as it allowed me to be more informed about a topic that somewhat relates to me. Some of the reasoning behind someone binge eating can also apply to me, albeit to a much less extreme extent. The advice given regarding someone with the disorder also helped reinforce advice given to me in the past about my weight.
Overall Recommendation: This is really for a specific audience, people who have a really bad binge eating problem. Not everyone is gonna connect with the entire work, but they may connect with little bits and piece of said book. So my recommendation would be for the author's target audience to read this. Other people outside this demographic can read this more as a recreational acitivity or side-reading.
Buy it or Borrow It?: For the specific audience of people with binge eating disorders/problems, this book can act as a low-cost method to deal with, and/or diagnose their problem. If that is the case for you, buy it to avoid dealing with library due dates.
