Easy Dum-Dum Recipe - Orange (or sweet and sour) chicken


YOU WILL NEED

-Rice (Brown or White - White cooks faster and can be made sticky by leaving lid on pot and intermittently removing lid to keep from boiling over) -make as much as you need-

-COUNTRY PRIDE Chicken Breast Nuggets (can be made in conventional over or air fryer) one pack is about 25 nuggets and they're REALLY good just a solid quick meal buy

-my choice spicing for rice

Sage, Basil, Pepper, Salt, Soy sauce

[post-cooking, add rice vinegar or cooking wine which has a similar effect for flavor]

-sweet and sour sauce and/or orange sauce of your choice (my store-bought choice is usually the panda express bottled)



Instructions


- FOR WHITE RICE -


Put rice in pot with as much water as serving amount instructs on box or bag AFTER pot begins boiling, then season with sage-basil-pepper-salt-soy sauce (order doesn't matter)

Optional: leave lid on rice and open occasionally, do not stir, do this very carefully and don't cook on heat too high roughly 3-6 at MOST to not burn a bunch of rice on the bottom of the pot

Begin cooking chicken in air fryer or conventional oven as instructed for about 14 minutes or longer, it's a long time because the chicken is breaded raw (idk how it's kinda magical)

Optional: when rice is done add and mix rice vinegar or cooking wine (flavorful!)


All should be done roughly at the same time if you're fast enough, then add rice in bowl, top with nuggets, pour over sauce of choice and voila


- FOR BROWN RICE -


Put rice in pot with as much water as serving amount instructs on box or bag AFTER pot begins boiling, then season with sage-basil-pepper-salt-soy sauce (order doesn't matter) this will take a good 5-6 minutes LONGER than white rice because brown rice is tougher but more nutrient rich and hardy - methinks

MAKE SURE: that you stir this and do NOT put the lid over it - brown rice will just burn

Begin cooking chicken in air fryer or conventional oven as instructed for about 14 minutes or longer - you can do this a few minutes after the rice is boiling in the pot, it takes a lot longer for brown to cook as said

Optional: when rice is done add and mix rice vinegar or cooking wine (flavorful!)


They may be done some time apart but relatively close in time, then add rice in bowl with nuggets, pour over sauce of choice


ADDENDUM:


i do not haver a picture of this cuz i eated it all but it's goddamn GOOD i def reccomend white rice it's waaay easier but brown rice is good also when i made this like 30 minutes ago i fudged up and added wayyy too much water to a small serving of rice and it was kinda not great but the chicken and sauce are still really good - i did spice the soupy rice very well thou
