And thus, the longest four-day work week ever finally draws to a close. If you're feeling worn out, trust me, you're not alone. Despite having just come off of a three-day weekend, I'm ready for a vacation already. Adjusting to the 9-5 lifestyle is going well enough, albeit slowly, and while it's nice not having to worry (as much) about bills and school deadlines and whatnot, there is that feeling of having only the four or five hours between work and sleep to actually do stuff. Who knows, maybe I'll get used to that, too.
That's nice is that there's actually wiggle room to invest in hobbies and just fun stuff now, although I have to be careful to make sure that I don't suddenly blow an entire paycheck on DnD stuff, snacks, and dog toys. (That does make for a happy corgi, though.) With that, I also don't feel quite as guilty spending time on personal projects and side hustles. I got a commission for a pair (!!!) of custom League of Legends inspired boards, which I'm psyched about! The funds from that will almost definitely go towards buying the new iPad so I can try up the art game just a little bit more.
I guess, in closing, after so long of just trying to get by, it's strange to feel like I get to live a little now. Strange in a good way, sure, but strange. With that, as important as it is to have breathing room now, I suppose it's just as important to remember to take the time to actually do that breathing.
Practice makes perfect though, right?
