high thots

i started smoking za again recently, and I'm gonna be blurbing all my thots here because why not lol.

whenever i got into my permastoned phases in life, i always find myself gravitating towards the whole vaporwave aesthetic. i like the slowed down synthpop music, the bright colors, and the graphics that come along with it. i know most would look down upon the re-done statue of david who looks like he's been wrapped in plastic wrap, but i just can't look away. the whole subculture thrives on what i believe is nothing but an idea. the idea that kids are lonely and melancholic, the malls are empty, and seldom brings you joy. the people participating all have the basic incapacity to obtain any extreme emotion. every emotion conceivable is oversimplified and remedied by slowed down music and the idea of a colorful world. basically what i'm getting at is that this is how SSRI's make you feel (which isn't a surprise :0 most people i've met including myself are on SSRIs).

the one thing that bothers me about vaporwave is the fact that it is not "alive", and therefore cannot be translated into real-life experiences. vaporwave is an exclusively virtual experience, meaning that there aren't any real-life social spaces where this can be seen. the world in which vaporwave places itself is purely fictional and not meant to transcend your computer screen (unless you're viewing this in a 1980's arcade. in that case, i'm jealous.). subcultures thrive in social spaces, allowing people real-life interaction with the thing they find aesthetically pleasing. the subculture suffers from the absence of that, but it nonetheless lives on.

i can't get enough of it. all of it entices me whenever i'm high as shit. it's a purely online experience  and has a massive following. shit's crazy dude.
