Instagram not very fun

I don't want to go so far as to sat that the algorithm sucks because I don't know anything about that stuff and I don't want to make stuff up but I'm kinda bored with it and I downloaded it yesterday. It's just not showing me stuff that I wanna see which is cool art, maybe book recommendations, maybe even like aesthetic images anything in that realm. I have seen cool art on Instagram but then it shows me the same stuff and for some reason it shows me a lot Sexual art as well and to each their own, I don't mind content like that because people gotta make a living somehow. 

Anyway I don't believe the hype, like how can folks be addicted to this app, I go I for like 5 minutes and then exit disappointed. It looks nice atleast. I follow a few people I really like on youtube and such. I don't really have friends who use insta either so the social aspect is gone. I've been thinking of posting stuff on their maybe but I don't know, I'm scared some crazed 4channer is gonna find my location somehow. 

Well I guess I wanted to ask how I can better suit the app to my interests, ive tried liking and saving things that were cool but to no avail. I also wanted ask if there were any ideas as to what types of photos I would post, I don't generally have an eye for photography and I don't want my face online.
