my problems with school food: a rant

these are my personal gripes against the school lunch system. first of all the PRICES, if you were to just get seconds they would charge you $4, and the average school lunch cost at my school is $3 so that would mean you would have to pay $21 per week. and that price does NOT help the quality of the food like why am I paying $3 for some cold green beans and dry chick tenders. I'd honestly just eat nothing rather than being in debt when I come to school. all I want to do is get some grub in my empty stomach and not worry about having enough money for some half-assed stuff like at least make the food affordable and cheap for an average kid and family

second of all the food quality, where do I even start... first off if the milk was expired and you wanted to tell a school official or something they'd ask you to throw it away and get another one, BRUH what if the rest of the milk are expired as well like that shit was slimy and wet as hell. The vegetables and fruits had literally zero nutrition in it, either it was boiled to hell or they left it out in open too long on accident. The meat oh the MEAT would give you brain damage, kidney damage, brain fog, and hallucinations just by taking a bite outta of it. And there were a few fire items like chicken sandies, burritos, and juice cups but those were the only exceptions. (if you haven't figured it out yet my school food wasn't kinda bad it was mid I'm just exaggerating for fun).

the real thing I'm concerned about is the health of my fellow classmates, I saw a dude who was starving and refused to eat the lunch served because it wasn't his vibe. Schools, please at least take the time and effort to make your food actually edible and healthy for kids, it's not that hard. you are feeding disguised fast food to your kids and have the balls to say that your food is "healthy". And parents if you can, pack your lunch for your kids. even if it's some chips and a sandwich it's still better than whatever they serve at the cafeteria.
