SlipMoth's Movie Journal (06/06/2023)

I watched Mafia Mamma (2023) and I expected to dunk on this movie constantly and make fun of it but as cliche as it is, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I know that people won't necessarily feel the same way because it kinda feels like a straight to TV film that my parents would watch but what can I say, I like what I like.

I'm not Italian so I don't know if the Italian in this movie is well written or anything but I appreciate that they put the effort in to actually speak the language. It made it more immersive. It also made me wanna rewatch Goodfellas (1990) which is another movie I really enjoy. The references in this are really on the nose but what would you expect from a parody mafia movie. It was just fun, there's no other way to describe, it's not high art or anything but it's a damn good time. 

Read the trigger warnings for this movie and if you can handle grab a few of your friends and give it a watch
