MY BESTIES CRUSH LIKES ME???(1/2)

I’m Danni and my best friend in this situation will be called Marigold. This is a code name for her!!(and for everyone else mentioned)We aren't a duo. We’re actually a trio with my other best friend who we will call Drummer. I’m actually just the option. Marigold and Drummer have been friends since kindergarten. I’m just the tag-along. Like Butters to the main four of south park. This January (of 2023), she told me she had a crush on this guy who we will call Ukulele. He is a grade above us. I can see she really likes him. It’s very overwhelming hearing her talk about him ignoring her. During valentines, he asked Marigold to be his valentine. She ofc said yes but then on Valentine’s Day, Ukulele ditched her. Every time we passed by him at school, he would look down or hide his face. (A part of me thinks he was dared) He apologised to her in text and it really pissed me off because he can’t just do that to her. Forward to late March. He chatted me. “Hey, is Marigold ignoring you? Or is it just me?” Or something like that. I responded with “no” because it’s the truth. We were just talking. Then he continues saying things like “sorry for asking I’m just overreacting” “does she hate me?” “Sorry” and it was kind of weird. When he talked to Marigold, he barely apologised for shit. The only time he apologised was for the valentines incident. After that, I told Marigold that Ukulele was chatting me. She got the idea for me to ask him questions about her. Then me and Ukulele became genuine friends. Then one day, Marigold caught him in a trap. He was cornered to the point where that he needs to say the truth. Ukulele accidentally said something tat made her suspicious of him and Marigold ask him, “do you like me?” He said yes. He then chatted me saying, “I told akira I like her.” I asked if it was true then he said “I don’t think it’s true anymore. I used to like her but I like someone else.” OF COURSE I WASN’T GONNA TELL MARIGOLD THAT. I tried keeping a happy face while Marigold danced around that school day. I knew the truth. Forward to April, Ukulele messaged Marigold about something she did for school that marigold thought was HORRIBLE. Marigold got embarrassed and blocked him immediately. She came to me complaining even though SHE blocked HIM. I genuinely had enough. I stopped helping marigold with her crush problems. So, me and Ukulele became friends and I never talked to him about Marigold. We got close a few weeks ago (1st week of may) and Ukulele said things like “You’re the only one I talk to.” And “I miss you :(“ when I wouldn’t answer.
