Rant About School

My school claims to be a safe space where you shouldn't be afraid to speak up and where everyone is treated with respect but that's just not true. Kids are constantly saying the r-slur, making ableist, racist, and homophobic jokes and the teachers do nothing. I know they hear everything being said and even when I ask them to do something about it they don't. I end up having to be the one to stick up for people and actually try to get people to see that what they're saying is wrong. Like yesterday some kid who sat behind me said the r-slur and I told him he shouldn't do that and I argued with him about it. My teacher was right infront of us and instead of helping she just told me to stop because she thought it was pointless. And yeah it will continue to be pointless until the school does something to actually punish kids for saying and doing these things. They don't actually take the hate that goes on in our school seriously and it pisses me off.
