in another life

in another life, the past or the future, i hope i'm happy. i do everything to please others but get no recognition. i spent so long worrying about someone i loved, that i missed that they did not love me. i hope that in another life i can tell the difference between love and someone being lonely. do you know how to tell the difference? a person in love will stay with you no matter what. If someone tells you they love you but is quick to leave you, they never cared from the start. take the hint while you can because it's not worth the extra time and pain to wait for someone to change when you know they won't. don't give someone a chance when they have already lied, hurt you and made you out to be a bad person when you put your all into your relationship. if they managed to lie in the first month, run. if they lie in the second month, run. don't  hurt yourself over someone who is clearly a problem. i hope a different me, in another life, can understand this when they are figuring out their choices. if you introduce them to your friends and family and every single person has something to say then it's not you it's them. allow your friends and family to protect you. in another life i am smart enough to look for the signs. in another life i can tell a partner from a child. in another life she can tell who loves you, and who is looking for a babysitter to smother them and be their personal therapist.
