dust in my pockets

is it from the time 

or from the sand

these pockets carry all my dreams 

all life’s memories in this khaki colored casing

i still have that guitar pic you gave me

the one i used to pick my strings 

strum along with music until it feels better

memories as sweet as yogurt covered strawberries 

summer arrives earlier than expected

i’ll play if you sing 

my life story all in one pair of jeans
