(Had no idea what category to put, by the way)
I installed Duolingo almost a year ago to learn italian. I'm part italian(in fact, I was named after my italian great grandfather) but couldn't speak like more than 10 words of italian.
I realized after almost a year that I was more worried about keeping my streak than actually learning.
To be fair, I did learn some stuff. Now I know how to say sentences like "she has a cup" or "the boy eats the food".
