Does anyone still use tamagothcis? I bought an offbrand one a couple weeks ago and used it for a few days but its hunger bar wasn't big enough to keep it alive all night & I wasn't able to wake it up to feed it :( Maybe if I got to it right before it decided to sleep it would have made it all night, but I tried for a few days and didn't manage it, this might just be because it was a cheap offbrand one though. I did notice for those few days where I would restart it and try to get it to maximum health, food, play, etc I managed to spend a lot less time on my phone and feel way more present in the real world because I would just check its stats, look after it, and continue with my day instead of taking my phone out and doomscrolling as much. I feel like if I got a proper one I'd either not be able to keep one alive at all, or it would be fine for a rly long time and then I'd accidentally let it die one day & just be devastated >.< but I'm still definitely considering getting one and giving it a try! Does anyone else still use tamagotchis and do you find that you use your phone less when you're looking after them? Would you recommend splashing out and getting a real one?

I still got my Tamagotchi lying around, but haven't used it in years, cause I keep forgetting. Also I one time cared very well for one and it kept living till that one day... The battery died and so did my will to get another battery, cause I know he is gone.
Also, that battery is expensive.
But might bring it back to life someday.
Also to answer your phone question. It might work as a replacement "drug", but switching to a flip-phone did a much better job

ah noo that's so sad about the battery :') But yea the flip phone thing does seem like the best option for sure, I think about it a lot and how I could maybe get into portable casettes or CDs and stuff to replace spotify id I did do it, since I use it so much when I'm out on my phone usually. But right now I've got way too many excuses to get rid of my smartphone ahaha, I use it for maps constantly for bus times and stuff as well as directions, and I use it at uni a lot when I don't want to carry my laptop all the way there. I think in the future maybe I'd like to give it a go, maybe when my ancient phone finally dies, but for now I'm just trying to cut down in small ways to start with! :)

also you should look into getting another battery for sure! If they're not crazy expensive at least :0

Mate I was the same, but I'm letting you know (for when you want to do the change in the future) modern flip phones do have google maps and WhatsApp lmao. No joke. And yeah I definitely will bring back my Tamagotchi one day (when it isn't 10 bucks for the battery).

no way! that's so cool!! I just had a look at some of the newer flip phones online and they look great! I'm definitely going to consider one when my current phone dies for sure :0 Yea a battery costing half the price of the entire thing itself is kinda crazy,, maybe online somewhere they'd do them cheaper?

i luv tamogachis!! i never thought abt the fact that they could help u stay off phone more,,, that's so smart! i have one that I love to take 2 school and I think it's totally worth it! brings excitement to boring days Xx
I'm super bad with not being able to get off mine so I'll use every distraction I can ahaha I'm definitely considering getting one though, they're so cute & sound like the perfect thing for between lectures or as a tiny break from essays!
