so i'm about to be finished getting my associate's degree... and then what.
i sort of decided i want to be a tattoo artist and/or something in child care but my parents absolutely hate that idea. i understand it's not the most profitable, but the current state of the world feels pretty doomed so i'd at least like to do something i actually enjoy. they'd rather i continue going to college and do literally anything else.
like sure, i'm an adult i shouldn't have to let them determine that for me, but i'm still dependent on them to live currently so i don't feel like i can outright just ignore them?
either way, it's just really annoying. they make the complaint that if i don't continue going to college, i'd be "wasting my brain" as if i'm some sort of genius. especially funny coming from my mom who is constantly incapable of deciding if i'm the most stupid, useless person on earth or the next einstein

forget them!! do what u want... it doesn't matter if ur living under their roof. its ur life, not theirs

You don’t have to ignore them in order to state you want to have your own go at life. Embrace chance, and encourage they do the same. Acknowledge their suggestions, worry and support, and state what you want. If they care for you, they will respect you.
