First time at The Tea Room

I am traveling at the moment and I am currently in Heber Springs, Arkansas. They have a local crystal store and restaurant that I was taken to for lunch by a family friend.

It is a very feminine place and I enjoyed being there. It is decorating and filled with antiques and crystals. They have bookshelves of old, glass bottles.
You can get tea, loose leaf tea, or a soda. I got white jasmine tea. I got honey and sugar to put in it. They charge “per serving,” but you get an entire tea pot. It’s a small tea pot, maybe 3-4 tea cups. You also get to choose which tea cup.
I got Mexican Zucchini soup with crackers, frozen blueberry salad, and chocolate cookie pie. The soup was pretty good. It tasted like something you would get at an American Mexican restaurant. The crackers were Saltines and I just dipped them in.
The frozen blueberry salad is more of a sorbet. It almost tasted like yogurt with blueberries in it, but it was extremely rich and sweet. There were white clumps that I believe to be mini marshmallows. It was so rich I couldn’t finish it. I didn’t get very far in it. I liked it, but I think it would have been much better if it was less sweet.
The chocolate cookie pie was literally a giant chocolate chip cookie in the shape of a pie and you got a slice drizzled with chocolate sauce and a tiny bit of whip cream on the side. It was also very rich. I think that it tasted fantastic, but again, I couldn’t finish it.
It is a very small restaurant, but it’s comfortable. If for some reason you find yourself in this small town, I would absolutely give it a try.
