Announcement. (Relationship / Misc.)

Bob and I have decided to split up. Sadly, we decided that marriage and a child will not fix our relationship problems.

We will have split custody of Lakynn starting next month. We will be taking turns on this blog documenting Lakynn and her development for sentimental reasons.

This is the last time I speak of Bob. 

I would also like to mention that this will not change the growth of our daughter. She will remain our number one priority in this. As such, I have decided to take on two jobs. ("A single mom who works two jobs, loves her kids and never stops"... The song encouraged me.) 

To my knowledge, this will impact Lakynn through the social learning theory. She will see that both her father and mother are working jobs when she is older and has a better understanding. I feel that this will make her feel like she can work on her own and support herself too. 

UPDATE: Yep! That theory was definitely correct! My little Lakynn has started to imitate her father and I with the jobs we do. She acts like a cashier at my apartment and her father has told me that she pretends to exterminate bugs at his home. I have also heard that she attempted to cook after seeing her fathers cook dinner together... To put it shortly, she just put the same ingredients they had into a bowl and tried to cook it on the stove. It did not go well.

Thinking about it, though, this should influence how she views gender. If I am understanding correctly, she should believe that both genders can succeed in any field and that women are not always the ones cooking (as it was when her father and I were together). I hope these ideas stay rooted in her as she grows.
