Character Description + Dialogue Practice! 1st person

I pushed my hair out of my face and looked around the library. I was in search of my friend, Avery. Movement had caught my eye and I could see Avery waving me down. She smiles at me and pats the seat next to her.

I take a seat and shrug my bag off of my shoulder and on the floor. I took a glance at what she was reading, “Oh, Harry Potter again?”

“Oh, shut up! It’s amazing!” She puffs up her cheek and glares at me with bright hazel eyes.

“Isn’t like your third time reading it through? There has to be a limit.” She lays the book down and snuggles into her sweater. Her blonde hair fell past her shoulders as she looked back up at me.

“Look, you might be right but I've been having trouble finding a new book.” She groans and slumps into her seat.

“Well, just in case you haven’t noticed, we are in a library“ I tell her and grin while gesturing towards the tall shelves “ which means I could help you find a book.” she shoots up and begins to bounce on the balls of her feet.

“Oh my gosh! You’re right!” She shouts and even without looking I could feel the glares of the librarians. “Come on! Where should we start?”

“First of all, hush, second of all, fantasy.” She giggles and rants about what she wants in a book while I dig through the shelfs. 

I don’t know if this is good or not but it was fun to write! If you have any tips please tell me.
