Healthy way of using Social Media

I started using a Forum some days ago, and one topic they brought up was about healthy way of using the internet and being an online person.

An user said something that I think will be very useful here:

— Become more anonymous. make up a pseudonym to go by, or only use your first name. Only post pictures of urself if you really want to and don't make your IRL appearance the main part of your online existence. Only mention the general area you live in (if you live in a big city or a suburb say you live in the [city] metropolitan area, if you live in the country be just say the area of the state/providence/country you live in). NEVER POST A PICTURE OF YOUR HOUSE OR BUILDING!

— Block liberally. Even if someone just simply seems annoying. block them. Its your account. Your rules.

— Don't engage with anyone antagonistic. And yes, this even goes for if you want to "own" them with a witty reply. Most arguments online are entirely bad faith and no one is gonna change their mind, ever. Plus, witty epic "owns" usually do nothing but give the person (and their shitty opinion) more exposure. in other words: DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!

With the way modern social media works, though, these things are becoming increasingly more difficult to do. Both the general culture on social media and the structure of the apps themselves encourage discourse (because its engagement) and using your real-life identity in your online life (up to giving you the ability to actually post your exact location down to the foot). Hell, the most popular social media app in the world encourages its users to film their faces constantly. There's also a weird culture when it comes to blocking, people take it super personally when sometimes its not very deep.

I'll try my best to do everything this person said, because I'm tired of having to choose between agreeing with mass opinions — from people who have never touched a book about/studied the subject — or being doxxed and lynched online. As someone who is already overloaded with social problems, I can't stand having to deal with gringos social problems too.
