due 2 sharks being my special interest and no one hearing me out on how fucking cool they are im going to shout it into the internet void 

- Sharks are not by nature wanting to eat humans but just how humans touch things when they dont know what they are sharks bite them 

- The smallest shark recorded so far is the dwarf lantern shark and its max length is 20cm

- Lemon sharks enjoy being pet 

- sharks will often swim away from orcas or dolphin pods 

- sharks are 1 million years older than trees

- sharks have small black freckles on their heads that can sense electromagnetic feilds 

- Greenland sharks can live up to 600 hundred years

- greenland sharks have been found with polar bear and reindeer meat in their stomachs 

- while sharks dont have bones they have a calcified vertebrae that has rings on it that can be counted to dertermine a sharks age similar to trees

- if you flip a shark over they enter a trance like state called tonic immobility 

- whale shark spot patterns are as unique as human fingerprints 

- there are over 500 species of sharks

- bull sharks can swim in rivers 

- sharks sleep in a way so they can keep moving so they can breathe by having one side of their brain asleep and the other awake 

- hammerhead sharks have a 360 vision just like pigeons

- sharks turn their eyes into the back of their head to protect them while fighting 

- during mating male sharks often take bites out of female sharks
